Deepening Our Embrace: An Intermediate Yoga Online Experience

Together, we will venture into mysteries within us all as we ask “Who Am I?” Our time together will include presenter teaching, practice sessions on your own, and opportunities for contemplative dialogue across traditions. As a next step of our enrichening journey with Yoga, we will dive further into Sanatan Dharma, the age-old philosophy known as Hinduism. We will deepen each day by exploring one of the five layers (koshas) of the human experience that veil the Atman, or true Self. Exploring each layer brings the individual closer to oneness with the universe and the true Self.

Sept 14 – Monday (2 hrs)

We will begin by unfolding the Annamaya (or physical) kosha.

We start by asking: Can we use all our senses to scan our entire body from tip of the toes to crown of the head, deep into our organs, to the inhale and exhale of our breath?


Sept 15 – Tuesday (2 hrs)

We deepen by unfolding the Pranamaya (or energetic/emotional) kosha.

We start by asking: Can we notice the way we feel when we enter a room and what we leave in the room solely with our presence?


Sept 16 – Wednesday (2 hrs)

We further deepen by unfolding the Manomaya (or mental) kosha.

We start by asking: Can we relax the powerful mental structures formed by the beliefs, opinions, and assumptions absorbed from family, friends, culture, academic studies and quickly release thoughts, images, perceptions as they bubble up?


Sept 17- Thursday (2hrs)

We continue by unfolding the Vijnanamaya (or intuition/intelligence) kosha.

We start by asking: Can we simply observe and witness our subtle awareness, responsible for our insights, when faced with personal or professional problems?


Sept 18 – Friday (2hrs)

We close by unfolding the Ananadamaya (or bliss) kosha.

We start by asking:  Can we start to pinpoint where is bliss in our life, in every essence from pure ecstasy to simple contentment?
