Awakening to Wholeness is a series of prompts, reflections, and teachings about how holding the tension of opposites can help us to heal division and experience wholeness. If you feel moved to share your own reflections, we invite you to email us with the subject line “Wisdom of Opposites” or tag us on social media with #EHoPWisdomOfOpposites.
This is a guest post by EHoP community member Dianne Schlichting, in response to “Inner and Outer Dialogue” by Christine Luna Munger.
We welcome contributions from all members of our community! To learn more, see the bottom of this page.
“The dialogue between the inner and outer worlds works like sonar, one force bouncing off another force, consequently helping to locate and ground me more fully in reality.”
These words jumped out at me. We are continuing to celebrate Christmas, the mystery of Incarnation and the story of Redemption achieved by Divinity becoming man and as a result, humanity entering more fully into Divinity.
As a Christian, this is my reality. It seems to me this truth is authenticated when we talk about the inner and outer worlds of self. If I can practice seeing myself as being formed in the image and likeness of God, then when I look inward, there is a foundation upon which to build and be filled with gratitude for whatever I encounter “within”.
In like manner, when I look outward, if I see with the eyes of the Divine One, I see beauty, diversity, life in all its forms as reason to rejoice and be filled with gratitude that all of creation, including myself, is in God, and God is in everything, including me.
Healing can occur and wholeness becomes more of a reality when I practice living this way.
