While in labor, giving birth to my two children, I did not wail and scream as television shows often portray women in labor. I did not wail, but I did growl.
Prayer is Transformative
If prayer is informative and formative, then perhaps most importantly, prayer is also transformative. If the inputs of prayer really do inform, and the structures of prayer really do form, then the dynamic power of prayer actually does make things anew. Really, truly, a new creation transforms all of reality, everywhere, every moment by moment.

Waiting and Resting
A good pause marks both waiting and resting. Taking a moment to think before I speak is one example of how a pause can play into the process of waiting. Pausing also factors in to good resting. In order to rest well, we often need to push the pause button on our usual flow of activities of life before we can enter fully and fruitfully into the stillness of rest.
