I recently completed a class on befriending the “small self”; the class was led by a Zen Buddhist teacher, Busshō Lahn. This reflection “Healed and Whole” by Christine Luna Munger, echoes some of what I think is the same truth from another angle. The class helped me recognize places in my life where I am hurting, but I may not be aware of what is causing the hurt or the acting out of a response to certain triggers.

The Vine, the Branches
‘I am the vine; you are the branches…” Partial to Whole…(John 15:1-8).
In my growing as a branch, I have come to appreciate the value of pruning! The more I am able to see what is lacking in my response to God’s Love, the greater is my desire to bring that lack to God in prayer, seeking help in transformation by practicing gratitude and trust.
