On the Path of Love, we are inspired to receive the vast storehouse of spiritual tools that can help us heal, become whole, generous, and connected to ourselves and to all of Creation. In that remembrance of connection, love flourishes.
There are so many challenges to love that we must meet.
The Psalms are an ancient treasure that must be excavated, refined, polished, and made useful in meeting the challenges of our day. On this retreat of deep inquiry and profound celebration, we will journey through eight themes that represent the means by which we meet those challenges on the path of Love: Gratefulness, Praise, Lament, Supplication, Exaltation, Revelation, Comfort, and Encouragement.
We’ll use the Psalms to explore these pathways, opening to the magic and the medicine of our inheritance.
This retreat is a special container, a way of inviting you into time-out-of-time yet with an intentional arc and direction. It is important that you arrive on time (by 5:30PM on arrival DAY) and stay through the end (at least 12:00PM, ideally staying for lunch through 1:00PM on departure DAY). Please factor this in as you make travel plans. If you fly, note that the shuttle from the Minneapolis-St Paul airport (MSP) takes around 2 hours. On arrival day, you would need to land by 2:30PM or 2:45PM Central time in order to deplane, collect luggage, and get to the shuttle departure area by 3:30PM. On the final day, this means leaving the St. John's University shuttle stop at 1:05PM, arriving at MSP at 3:25PM. The shuttle runs many times each day, but these are the latest and earliest ones to reserve a seat on, respectively. It may be possible to spend an extra night at the House of Prayer before or after your retreat ($75/person/night); please email us if flight times or other travel logistics mean this is the best option for you.
Suggested offering: $750 (includes meals and overnight accommodations)
