Policies

Payment

  • The full retreat fee is due at the time of registration. Your space in the retreat is not reserved until we receive payment.
  • Most retreats offer a sliding scale/”pay as you can” option. To take advantage of this option, simply select the “As You Can Offering” option on the registration form. (This sliding scale option is supported by the Bishop Anderson Scholarship Fund.)

Cancellations and Refunds

  • If you cancel your retreat reservation more than two weeks before the start of the retreat, the House of Prayer will refund your payment, minus a $50 cancellation fee to cover our costs.
  • If you cancel your retreat reservation with less than two weeks’ notice, the House of Prayer will issue a refund of 50% of your payment.
  • We may be able to make an exception to this policy if you need to cancel because of an illness or emergency, and will review these situations on a case-by-case basis.
  • If the House of Prayer needs to cancel a retreat for any reason, we will issue a full refund.
  • If you choose, you may donate all or part of your refund to the House. Let us know if you choose this option at the time of canceling.

Please contact the Hospitality Manager with any questions about payments, cancellations, or refunds.

Mission & Vision

Our Mission is to assist in the ongoing work of discerning God's presence, both within ourselves and in the world; provide guidance in the search for wisdom; teach all forms of contemplative prayer; offer training in the inner work of the spiritual life.

The Vision of the Episcopal House of Prayer is to be a contemplative ministry of spiritual transformation, grounded in the Christian tradition, in the practice of Benedictine hospitality, reaching out and welcoming all.
