As a singer-songwriter, choir director, and activist, Sara Thomsen knows that it is easy to become overwhelmed in the face of so much division and suffering in the world. Yet Sara bids us not to despair; rather, her work offers a unique vantage point for hope and positive transformation of both inner and outer worlds in these tough times.

While on retreat, we will join in singing simple and compelling songs from around the world, songs of justice and peace, songs of hope and longing, songs of celebration. Singing opens the heart and re-enchants the spirit. Come reclaim the joy of singing as a human birthright. No previous singing or music reading experience required. In a casual atmosphere, Sara will teach the songs by call and response.

Sara Thomsen is a singer-songwriter from the Twin Ports of Duluth/Superior. Thomsen is the Founder/Director of Echoes of Peace, a non-profit inspiring awareness, action and reflection on critical social issues through music and the arts to build and bridge informed, engaged and caring communities. Increasing wonder and awareness, deepening spiritual connection, and widening social engagement through song are at the heart of her work.
