Even in oneness and especially in two-ness, the core of reality is fundamentally relational.

Not-One and Two

So many wonderful things come in sets of two: eyes, ears, legs, arms, hands, ovaries! Two-ness is a foundational part of the created world. The shared sacred texts of the Abrahamic traditions also recognize two-ness as foundational through the stories of Adam and Eve, a pair of humans. Even as these Western traditions honor two-ness as foundational in the created world, they also point to the oneness of all things, especially in references to God as the Holy One and insistence on a theology of monotheism.

Mission & Vision

Our Mission is to assist in the ongoing work of discerning God's presence, both within ourselves and in the world; provide guidance in the search for wisdom; teach all forms of contemplative prayer; offer training in the inner work of the spiritual life.

The Vision of the Episcopal House of Prayer is to be a contemplative ministry of spiritual transformation, grounded in the Christian tradition, in the practice of Benedictine hospitality, reaching out and welcoming all.
