Prayer is Loud

When I first began to explore quiet, still prayer through the Centering Prayer method, I was in my early twenties and had not become a mother yet. While appealing at the time, regular quiet, still prayer did not stick to my routine. Years later, married and mother of small ones, I was attracted again to still, quiet prayer, but felt dismayed. How will I ever be able to find silence with two little ones around!?

Mission & Vision

Our Mission is to assist in the ongoing work of discerning God's presence, both within ourselves and in the world; provide guidance in the search for wisdom; teach all forms of contemplative prayer; offer training in the inner work of the spiritual life.

The Vision of the Episcopal House of Prayer is to be a contemplative ministry of spiritual transformation, grounded in the Christian tradition, in the practice of Benedictine hospitality, reaching out and welcoming all.
